The Willow Domestic Violence Center in the City of Rochester has new president and CEO. The board of directors were unanimous in their decision of voting Marisol Ramos-Lopez into the position. Ramos-Lopez has various experience working with youth in Rochester and board chair Barbra Purvis says Ramos-Lopez’s “depth of experience will allow Willow to continue its comprehensive and collaborative approach to providing life-saving domestic violence services.”
The University of Rochester has installed 150 ‘Stop The Bleed’ kits around their campuses. Faculty and Staff will undergo training on how to apply gauze and control the bleeding of deep wounds. These kits have the ability to save lives in the instance of a mass shooting, something which affects schools across the country each week. Stop The Bleed is a national organization which was founded just following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2013.
