Advisor: Kim Young –

Kim Young knows a thing or two about television. Before becoming a professor, Kim spent 20 years working in television as a reporter and anchor. Under Kim’s guidance, Talon TV has become an organization committed to creating programming for a diverse audience. Kim is passionate about television and passionate about the talented students of Talon TV.


Station Manager: Terrence Dickey –


Born a Queens native in New York City and living on the cusp of Long Island, Terrence Dickey has experienced parts of the bright lights and big city while growing up in the suburbs of the city. From the tender ages of 6 and 7, he always knew that anything involving television and being on screen or stage was where he needed to be. Transferring into the College at Brockport in Fall 2017, he began double majoring in Journalism and Broadcasting and Theatre after a shift from education, truly embracing his purpose. Now he has stepped into his own with many roles on campus such as: Station Manager of Talon TV, Events Coordinator of OSAD, Crew in the Theatre Department, Transfer Peer Mentor and more, so be sure to say “Hey!” when you see him on campus.


Assistant Station Manager: Violet Scibior –


Violet Scibior is a Broadcast Meteorology major in the class of 2019 at SUNY Brockport and is from Utica, NY.  She is the Assistant Station Manager of Talon Television, the Full Time Meteorologist at WBSU 89.1 FM The Point radio station, the Manager of SUNY Brockport Golden Eagle Sports Forecasting, and a member of SUNY Brockport’s National Weather Association Chapter.  Violet has done internships with WKTV News Channel 2 for Utica, NY, O’Brian and Gere Environmental Engineering, and Spectrum Bay News 9 in Tampa, FL.  Violet loves to forecast and is an active competitor in The Weather Challenge, which is the nationally recognized North American collegiate weather forecasting competition.  On her free time, Violet loves traveling the globe and weather photography, which she posts on her professional social media accounts.  Other hobbies include figure skating, cross country, hiking, singing, theatre, and dance.


News Director: Lexie Cutmore –


Lexie is a Junior at the College at Brockport studying Journalism and Broadcasting with a minor in Art. Lexie received her Associates Degree from Broome Community College in Individual Studies. During her time at SUNY Broome, she joined the Communications Club and realized her passion for journalism through the help of her professor, Tim Skinner. Lexie interned and worked as a field reporter at FOX 40, WICZ in Binghamton, NY. Upon graduation she hopes to become a full-time field reporter.




Sports Director: Ben Vahey –

Ben is a Senior at The College at Brockport studying Journalism and Broadcasting. Ben earned his Associates Degree in Electronic Communications from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, where he discovered his love for sports reporting. In the summer of 2017 and 2018, Ben interned at WSYR-TV in Syracuse, and WROC-TV in Rochester, where he assisted the sports department at both stations. He looks to become a television sports reporter upon graduating from Brockport. In his spare time, he loves to travel and spend time with his family.

Emily is a Senior at The College at Brockport studying Sport Management with a minor in Coaching. Emily received her Associates Degree from Monroe Community College in Communications and Media Studies where she learned she had a passion for journalism. Emily has completed internships with the Rochester Red Wings, RazorSharks, Spencerport High School Athletics, and Brockport’s Athletic Communications. She plans to work in the sports industry upon graduating from Brockport and obtain a Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration.




Entertainment Director: Hannah Mau –

Hannah is a Senior with a major in Journalism and Broadcasting and a minor in Sociology. She is entering her fourth semester at Talon, and is excited to bring new and fun ideas to the entertainment department.




Assistant Entertainment Director: Kadeem Blackman –


Kadeem is a Senior at The College at Brockport majoring in Journalism and Broadcasting with a minor in Theatre. Kadeem has been a member of Talon Television since transferring from Monroe Community College where he earned his Associates Degree in Communication and Media Studies. He is passionate about producing media and educating and entertaining audiences.



Assistant Entertainment Director: JT Robertson –

JT is a Senior at The College at Brockport studying Communications with a concentration in Media Production, and a minor in English. After taking an intro to video production course, he learned he had a true passion for video production. JT has been a member of Talon Television for two semesters, and plans to use his experiences to go into the broadcasting field. He wants to work in either a studio as a technical or production director, or for an advertising agency producing promotional videos. He spends much of his free time experimenting with video methods and shot perspectives as well as editing with both video and audio. He loves to be creative and challenge the norms of what can be accomplished through video.
